A skiing paradise in Alta Badia

A skiing holiday of your dreams

For skiers Alta Badia is a real paradise on earth, actually halfway between earth and sky, and more precisely within 1,400 and 2,700 m.a.s.l. This is the kingdom of Alpine skiing and snowboarding with 130 km of perfectly groomed slopes, 53 modern mountain lifts and a cutting edge artificial snow-making system.

Whoever loves skiing, will be fascinated by these sunny slopes framed by the rocky peaks of the Dolomites. The area perfectly suits both beginners and expert skiers, representing a wonderful solution for a family skiing holiday. Learning the basics and improving your skiing skills on the slopes of Alta Badia is easy and safe with professional ski instructors by your side. Advanced skiers, however, will adore some of the most technical runs of the Dolomites, for example, the legendary Gran Risa that hosts every year the World Cup race of men’s giant slalom and night parallel giant slalom.

Passionate freestylers will have lots of fun in the snow park Alta Badia and on the Fun Slope Biok, while children will enjoy the Kidslope Pralongià II with arches, snow tunnels and various funny obstacles.

Of course, there is also no shortage of opportunities for freeride and ski mountaineering, including a visit into the amazing Val Mezdì, a gorge in the massif of Sella, fully dedicated to extreme off-piste adventures.

Those who are looking for a new skiing experience, can try the antique charm of telemark with its elegant free-heel technique. At the rental points you will find all the required equipment and all ski schools offer lessons with specialized instructors to accompany you at your first turns.

And finally, apart from Alpine skiing, you can also try the revitalizing power of Nordic skiing. Alta Badia boasts 30 km of cross-country trails, including 26 km located at the Cross-Country Centre in the locality Sarè/Armentarola, 3 km away from San Cassiano, at the foot of the magnificent Conturines, Lavarella and Settsass.
